"I don't have any favorite right now," Dexter Pratt admits. "I don't even know how many offers I have, but it's more than 20. I'll look at the depth at my position because I really want to play early. Also, I'd like to go to where they produce championship quality teams." It's no surprise he lists LSU, Texas and Oklahoma as a few of his favorites. Pratt attended the Longhorn Junior Day.

Dexter Pratt, the 6-foot-2, 220 pound four-star running back from Navasota, Texas, finished his junior year with 205 carries for 2058 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also had 16 receptions for 366 yards and four touchdowns.

"I have great power and speed and quickness," Pratt said. "I'm a great downhill runner and I just have it all for a running back."

"I want to get stronger and improve my footwork," he said. "I work out pretty hard and I'm in track right now working on my speed. I also play basketball, which helps my footwork."

Pratt says he can run a 4.5 forty and can bench press 260 pounds and squat 450. He also claims an impressive 41-inch vertical jump.

"I don't have any favorite right now," he admits. "I don't even know how many offers I have, but it's more than 20. I'll look at the depth at my position because I really want to play early. Also, I'd like to go to where they produce championship quality teams."

With his desire to play for a "championship quality team," it's no surprise he lists LSU, Texas and Oklahoma as a few of his favorites. He says he also likes Texas A&M and Nebraska, as well as countless others.

"LSU just won the national championship and it's always a top team," he said. "That definitely catches my eye. I'm also friends with a few guys there already (wide receiver Terrance Toliver and quarterback Jarrett Lee). I talk to Terrance quite a bit and he says that going to LSU is a lot of fun."

Pratt attended the Longhorn Junior Day and lives only about three hours from the Texas campus. "The junior day was a lot of fun," he said. "I love their tradition and they have a winning team too. Also, my cousin (wide receiver Limas Sweed) played there. I don't really talk to him a lot, but I know he really liked it. Texas is just a top program and one of the few that I've already seen."

The only other school that Pratt has already visited is in-state rival Texas A&M. College Station is only 30 minutes from Pratt's home, but he says that distance will not be a factor. "They are right up the road and I've been to a few games there already," he said. "It's a really exciting atmosphere. I love the fans and the support is great. It's electrifying during game day."

While Pratt likes the Aggies atmosphere, he admits that he doesn't really know much about the new coaching staff. "I haven't really gotten to know any of them yet," he said. "But I wasn't really surprised about coach Dennis Franchione (losing his job). It seemed like everyone knew it was gonna happen."

Although Pratt doesn't have any camps or combines scheduled yet, he says he'll likely attend a few this summer. Two potential schools he'll be visiting are Oklahoma and Nebraska.

"Adrian Petersen is from Texas and I love his running style," he said. "He did great at Oklahoma and I like how they always produce great runners. Plus, they always seem to have a good offense.

"Nebraska hasn't offered yet, but they are a good program too," he said. "I like their tradition and I think the new coaches get them back on top. I'm also friends with two guys who just signed with them (running back Lester Ward and linebacker/fullback Alonzo Whaley). It would be cool to play with some people I already know."

The Huskers may not have offered Pratt yet, but he has over 20 other scholarships to choose from including, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Iowa State, Colorado, Ole Miss and several others.

Pratt, who is ranked as the No. 10 running back in the country by Scout.com, says growing up he never followed a specific program and denies that his parents have a favorite either.

He reports a 2.5 core GPA and is waiting on his SAT results.
