Gene Robinson, who earned All-Combine honors in San Antonio in January, told us of the new programs recruiting him.
He said, “I got an offer from Middle Tennessee State University today, and I am expecting a possible offer from Colorado soon.”
Robinson admits he does not know much about Middle Tennessee yet, but wants to learn more. As far as visiting the campus he responded, “Not on a recruiting visit, but I’ve been there.”
“We have a player up there, Michael Cannon. It’s close to home, and they play in the Sunbelt.”
Robinson, who also holds offers from Memphis and Ole Miss, commented on his plans to visit the Rebels.
He responded, “I’ve been talking to them, and hopefully I will get that planned soon.”
With so much attention from southern schools it seems odd Colorado may become a potential school for his services.
However he explained of his recruitment to the Buffaloes, “I gave them my highlight, and my coach emailed them. They said they were close to offering.”
Robinson plans to continue to go to combines and camps in order to promote his abilities and hopefully increase his offers.
He is an explosive defensive back who put up good numbers last year for his Whitehaven team with five interceptions and was among the leaders in team tackles. He also impressed many in San Antonio with his cover skills and short shuttle time.
