Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway cornerback/wide receiver Corey Brown proved to everyone in attendance at the Badger Sport/New Level Athletics Skills Pass Camp that he was deserving of his lofty pre-evaluation Top 100 ranking on Scout.com
Not to say we told you so, but we told you so. Brown may not be the fastest prospect in a straight line, but he has that it factor. He is usually the best player on the field, along with his teammate Dorian Bell. On Sunday, Brown was just days removed from being in a hospital on IV fluids that he suffered from a flu virus. He came out and played seven games and played both ways.
Brown rarely took a break from the action and showed that he is worthy of his top 40 player in the nation ranking. One defense, Brown locked down everyone. He allowed Scout.com five-star wide receiver Logan Heastie to make one catch and earned the respect of the talented Virginia star. Heastie promptly started recruiting Brown to join he and Tahj Boyd at West Virginia.
Brown was also the main receiving threat fro the Pennsylvania team who made it to the championship despite losing two starters (Je’Ron Stokes and Jordan Hall) before the tournament started and tight end Brock DeCicco suffered a concussion in the second game of the day and missed the rest of the action. Brown stepped up and took the team on his back.
It is easy to see why Brown has picked up over 30 offers so far from schools all across the nation. He is the truth.
