| ScoutTV: Privott Provides Emotion | ||||
![]() |
One aspect of player evaluations that doesn't get talked about enough is leadership. Usually, a player who takes on that role with his team is a tireless worker, who always goes above and beyone. We're not talking about the kid who talks a lot of junk, but the guys who talk the talk and walk the walk, like Mike Privott. | |||

Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor middle linebacker Mike Privott can talk with the best of them, but he backs it up. He talks more to inspire his teammates than he does to show up an opposition. On Sunday, at the Badger Sport/New Level Athletics Skills Pass Camp, Privott was the inspirational leader of his Virginia team. Privott has his critics, partly because of his height (5-11), but what he lacks in size he more than makes up for in heart. Privott gives everything on the field and is very athletic. He looks very solid in coverage. Privott did have one moment he’d probably like to forget though. He was on the receiving end of a Tavon Austin juke that almost faked him out of his shoes. Privott wasn’t alone, because Austin does that to a lot of people.
