Auburn (Wash.) Riverside linebacker Jake Pele, one of the top prospects in the SPSL, is planning on a busy spring in hopes of landing his first offer.
Pele, a 6-2, 210-pound middle backer for the Ravens, has two camps set in stone with more a possibility.
"I know for sure i will be going to the Competitive Edge Combine (in Sumner, Wash.) on May 19th and the Nike Camp at Oregon," said Pele. "I am deciding either between Idaho or Washington State's camp or both."
Pele also plans to be a frequent attendee at the Barton Training Camps, with plans to head to their spring camp in Salem in May. He'll also be attending a team camp at Puget Sound in July.
In other words, Pele is doing all he can to gain some more exposure. And when the camps are done, he's hoping to take some unofficial visits.
"After (the camps) I'll maybe take some unofficial visits to places that I am looking forward to attending," said Pele. "I want to take one to Oregon State. They're a school I'm considering and I love their smash mouth defense."
Pele took an unofficial visit to UNLV earlier this month, and also participated in the Badger/New Level Pass Camp in Las Vegas.
Other schools he's considering include Eastern Washington, Idaho, Idaho State, Oregon, Washington and Washington State.
As a junior, Pele started both ways for Auburn Riverside. He had 11 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns to earn all-SPSL Honorable Mention selection. Defensively, Pele had 60 tackles, 6.5 for loss, a pick, a sack and a forced fumble to earn all-SPSL second team honors.
