Lemon Ready for Visits

Gambrills, Md., product Alec Lemon just returned home from the New Level Athletics seven-on-seven passing tournament in Akron, Ohio last weekend and is prepped to start taking visits this spring to some of the programs showing him interest so far. We spoke to the productive receiving threat about his recruiting this weekend and found that three schools are showing the most interest.

Alec Lemon finished his junior season at Arundel High School ranked second in the state of Maryland for receptions with 70 which he converted into 969 yards and 13 touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver has been hearing from six schools so far, but he says three of them stand out.

"Vanderbilt, Connecticut and Louisville seem the most interested," Lemon stated. "I have also been hearing from Clemson, Illinois and Maryland. I plan on visiting the first three schools very soon."

"I told the staff at Vanderbilt I'd be down soon and had a nice, long conversation with Coach (Michael) Hazel," Lemon said. "They want me to come work out for them at camp and I'm stopping by this weekend too after the Louisville junior day. Vandy offers great academics and also plays a high level of football in the SEC."

"I really like the spread offense at Louisville because we run it here at Arundel and I feel like the learning curve would be that much shorter," Lemon explained. "Right now they're trying to build the program back up. I get a lot of letters from them and my stepfather emails back and forth with the coaching staff. I'll be down there this weekend."

Lemon received picks for All Anne Arundel County and an All-State Honorable Mention for wide receiver.
