"I committed to Southern Miss on Saturday," said Guerry. "I went there for the scrimmage and I told Coach Fedora that I was ready to pull the trigger."
The Golden Eagles' new head man was extremely excited about his new addition.
"He was happy. He was psyched. He was pretty pumped," explained Guerry. "I told coach Kapp and he was real happy too. He told me to be sure that I knew I couldn't be flirting with other schools and they were happy to have me."
Jonathan had considered waiting out the recruiting process, but after a talk with his father he made the decision to become a Golden Eagle.
"Me and my Dad were talking about it and I was kind of waiting around for State," said Jonathan. "Southern told me they needed me as much as they wanted me and I could make an impact early. My dad said that he felt I fit in better with Southern's offense. They like to run the spread and he thinks that fits my style of player better."
The talented offensive lineman reports that his football travels are all over except for any trips he makes to Hattiesburg.
"I am going to camp there this summer and I will go to my team camp whatever my team goes too," said Jonathan. "I don't plan on going anywhere else."
