Burke Hayes joins Scout as its newest regional manager in charge of the
Southeast Region. Hayes brings with him an impressive list of credentials
including 11 years of coaching experience at the high school level in the state
of Georgia. He was defensive coordinator at Wheeler High School in Marietta,
Ga., and Special Teams Coordinator for Rome High School.
He served as an assistant track coach at Wheeler who won a state championship
in 2003, and he was named the region's assistant coach of the year.
A former high school and collegiate football player, Hayes is well rounded as a
scholar as well. He has served as an English teacher during his 11 years of
coaching.
Not only has Hayes served his community as a teacher and coach of two sports, he
also served in the United States Marine Corp.
"I got to work with Burke when I was the Southeastern Manager for
Scout," said Director of Scouting Scott Kennedy. "He's a guy that I
always hoped we would be able to find a place for at Scout. He is a tireless
worker and a good person that has developed strong relationships with his
players and fellow coaches. His expertise from an on the field standpoint is a
strong addition to the Scout staff."
Hayes has already hit the ground running, attending the Under Armour/Scout
Combine in Jacksonville and the Badger/New Level 7v7 in Tampa this weekend. He
can be reached at bhayes@scout.com.
Former Southeastern Manager Miller Safrit has taken a new role within Scout in
