Gavin has had the chance to get to see a pair of SEC schools up close in the past several months.
"I went to Junior day at Mississippi State a couple of Saturdays ago," said Luster. "They have a real nice campus. Everything fits together there. I talked to some of the coaches and players while I was there. I like them.
I went to an Ole Miss game last year with one of my coaches. I got to speak with some of the coaches there. My coach, John Meeks, went there. He took me up there and I got to go on the sidelines before the game and everything. I am going up there to their camp in June. I believe it's the 8th through the 11th."
Luster rushed for over 1,100 yards last season and was one of his team's leading tacklers from his position in the defensive backfield. Gavin is unsure where he best fits position wise at the next level, but he is open to either side of the ball.
"I am looking at playing running back and safety this year," explained Luster. "I like both of them. I like to run, but I like to play defense too. It doesn't matter to me."
When decision time comes Gavin reports that he will be looking for a hometown type of feel from his college choice.
"I am looking for a nice campus," said Luster. "I want to have some good coaches and some nice teachers. I want to go somewhere that I like everybody and where I would be happy."
