Seven Spot for Ankrah
Jason Ankrah, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end from Quince Orchard High School added offers from Illinois, Nebraska and Rutgers this month to the four he already had in place from Maryland, North Carolina State, Syracuse and Virginia. "The Illinois offer really came out of the blue," Ankrah stated. "I have family that lives near there and goes to a lot of the home games and they tell me that the game day atmosphere there is great. They have a lot of young talent and are definitely and up and coming program that is going places." "The coach at Nebraska that is recruiting me actually graduated from Quince Orchard, so we have a lot in common there," Ankrah said. "I like them, but I really need to talk to my parents about them because I think that's a bit too far for me to go for school." "Rutgers has been recruiting me for a while and I really liked it at their junior day event," Ankrah explained. "They head coach was very down to earth and the defensive line coach was a funny guy. My head coach thinks that Rutgers would be a great fit for me and I liked the facilities, players and coaches a lot, but I need to see if I actually think their defensive scheme fits my playing style because I'm not sure it does." Ankrah also has some visits that he'd like to knock out in the next few weeks. "I'm going up to Penn State this weekend for a visit. Coach Larry Johnson is my recruiter and has been down for a few practices. He's a cool, funny guy and I like everything I know about them so far. The one thing that holds me back with Penn State is that Zach Kerr told me they're really deep at defensive end already." The Gaithersburg product will also try and visit Virginia Tech with his teammate Travis Hawkins next week.
