Hoop Dreams for Washington?

Like most athletes Kendrick Washington excels in more than one sport. What is unique about Kendrick is that he has the chance to advance to the college level in both football and basketball, but Washington has no designs on being a two sport athlete in college.

"In football I have offers from LSU, Tulane, Mississippi State, Florida and a couple of others," reported Kendrick. "In basketball Tulane has offered. I talked with a coach from LSU, but they haven't offered yet. There are a few other schools too."

Washington's two part decision consists of picking a school as well as a sport.

"I think I might just stick with basketball," said Kendrick. "I will either play power forward or the three guard. I can play either one."

The multi-talented Washington reports that he and his teammates had a good season individually and collectively.

"We went to the Top 28," said Kendrick. "I averaged 20 points per game and 11 rebounds per game. I had a good year. I am getting ready for AAU ball now. I have been playing with Reebok, but I am probably going to change to Nike Elite this year."

While Washington is currently excited about basketball, he has not totally ruled out the possibility of playing football.

"I am going to take my time and see what happens," said Kendrick. "I will have to talk to my mom about everything. We're going down to LSU this weekend for their spring game, so we'll see."
