Florida Safety Talks Favorites

Jonathan Scott, safety from Daytona Beach-Seabreeze, (Fla.), has received six scholarship offers and expects more to come his way. He has several schools expressing interest as he names five early favorites.

“I have offers from Florida State, LSU, Auburn, Michigan, UCF and Florida International,” said Jonathan Scott. “We start the spring soon, and hopefully more schools are going to offer. I think Clemson is going to offer. I hope Miami and Florida offer.”

“I plan on attending Florida State’s Junior Day. I will probably head up to South Carolina as well. I have a big pool of favorites, but right now my top five would be LSU, Florida State, Michigan, South Carolina and Auburn.”

LSU: “They just won the national championship. That’s a big time offer for me.”

FSU: “I am a Florida boy, so you already know how that goes. That’s my team.”

Michigan: “That's a Big 10 school. They bounced back after their big loss earlier in the year. That’s my brother’s [James Scott, Ohio State] rivalry school.”

South Carolina: “I would love to play for the old ball coach [Steve Spurrier].”

Auburn: “That’s the SEC. I like their style of play. I like the defense they run. They go get it. Their speed is amazing.”

Scott has favorites along with several offers, but no rush on a decision.

“I think I am going to end up waiting a while," he said. "I don’t know yet. There should be more schools coming in during the spring."
