Danville (Calif.) San Ramon Valley fullback Cole Huntley (6-0, 245), is keeping his spring occupied with plenty of college visits as he awaits his first offer.
Last weekend, Huntley took in Colorado's Junior Day.
"I had a great visit and had a chance to meet with several Colorado coaches and had a separate meeting with Darian Hagan," said Huntley. "Coach Hagan wants me to come back to their summer camp in June and get a chance to see how he coaches the backs."
The trip to Boulder left a strong impression on Huntley.
"Based on this trip, Colorado is one of my top five choices," said Huntley. "The coaching staff, facilities, academics and location are see to be a good fit for me."
A handful of other schools dot Huntley's list.
UC Davis, Brown, Vanderbilt, Cal, Boston College, Arizona, Washington and Oregon State are some of the other schools where there is mutual interest.
Huntley is also a stellar rugby player, and that may be in his future.
"I met with UCLA's head rugby coach, Scott Stewart in March," said Huntley. "Coach Stewart gave me a tour of the campus, visited the facilities and introduced me to the UCLA rugby team. Coach Stewart offered me a spot on UCLA's rugby team and said I was UCLA's to recruit."
UCLA was the second school to talk rugby with Huntley, joining Cal.
"I now have two rugby offers - one from Cal and the other from UCLA - these are the only two schools that I will go to if I decide to play rugby."
