“Right now I have offers from Alabama and Mississippi State,” said Darius McKeller. “I am also receiving a lot of interest from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, Central Florida, Virginia, Louisville and Clemson.”
McKeller was in Tuscaloosa Tuesday for an unofficial visit.
“The visit to Alabama went real good," he said. "I talked to coach [Nick] Saban, coach [Kirby] Smart and coach [Joe] Pendry. They told me how I would fit in their system. They want to help make me a better person. They said they would help me get better on every play.”
“That was my fourth visit down there. They have a lot of fancy stuff. They have a lot of tradition. They have won more national championships than any other team, and I know with coach Saban they are going to win more."
The 6-foot-6, 290-pound prospect will return to the Capstone Saturday to attend the Tide’s A-Day game. Alabama sits at the top of the list for his signature, but a decision has been put on hold.
“I really like Alabama a lot," McKeller said. "I like the fact my family can come to all the games. I have also been an Alabama fan since I was little. To tell you the truth I thought about committing during my visit this weekend, but my mom wants me to wait.”
“Right now I am probably going to decide sometime during the summer. It will be before school starts back. It’s probably going to be Alabama for me.”
“I went to Mississippi State a few weeks ago. It was real nice down there. I like them. There are some Georgia boys on the team. I also like Georgia. I went over there for one of their practices a while back. I liked it there as well."
