New schools in play for Petty
Though the interest list is slimming down, Midlothian quarterback Bryce Petty is happy with the teams that are recruiting him at the moment. According to Petty in a previous interview, it was LSU, Nebraska, and Auburn pursuing him. Now it seems there are a new set of schools that are in pursuit of Petty. "Here lately, Texas A&M has been sending me a lot of things," Petty said. "We have been emailing quite a bit over the last two weeks. Also Louisville is showing a lot of interest and I got my first offer from Portland State." Now the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Petty plans to check out the Aggies' spring game this weekend. He also has another school on his stop as well. "I plan to go to Baylor first and check out their spring game and then go to College Station," Petty said. "The schools are not that far from each other. Baylor's spring game is early and (Texas) A&M's is later so I will try and catch both." Petty, who has already attended junior days at Nebraska, LSU, and Texas Tech, said he looks for things to pick up during spring football. As a junior, Petty threw for over 2,200 yards and 17 touchdowns. He completed 62 percent of his passes.
