Indianapolis Cathedral OT Kyle Koehne is one of the midwest’s top prospects and already has four offers to his name. Lately though, a few new schools have jumped into the picture for him including one big time program in SEC country. | |||

Kyle Koehne still is sitting with four offers. The Indianapolis Cathedral tackle has had offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, North Carolina State and Iowa since February. However, the lack of new offers lately does not mean his recruiting his slowed down one bit. “I still only have the four offers, but I’ve been talking to Florida and Boston College a lot,” he said. Not only has he been talking to the Gators, Koehne also took the time to head all the way down to Gainesville recently to check out the Swamp first hand. “I spent one whole day there,” he said of his trip south, “I really enjoyed it. I watched their practice and their scrimmage. They want me to come down one day for lineman camp this summer and see how coachable I am, but they like me a lot of film.” The second team he has had increased contact with, the Boston College Eagles, also are impressed with the 6’6, 300-lber’s abilities. “I’ve just been talking to B.C. a lot more,” Koehne reported, “I haven’t visited yet, but I plan on it this summer. I called and talked them though and they watched my film and like me a lot, so they want me to come down for camp and visits and see.” Just because he is receiving attention from these new schools, it doesn’t mean Koehne has forgotten about the other schools who were recruiting him, especially a certain instate team over in Bloomington. “I’ve still been talking to Indiana, they’ve been sending me a bunch of letters and when I went down there, they treated me really well. I was able to talk to them and I watched a scrimmage.” Of course, now he has schools recruiting him way down in the Sunshine State as well as right in his back yard, so is proximity a factor? “Distance doesn’t matter as much to me,” he said, “Yeah, the I mean it might take me awhile to get used to the weather but I’m not afraid of the heat.” |
