Reporters from New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia flocked to Springfield, Pa., today to watch the No. 11 quarterback in the nation announce his college intentions from the auditorium of Cardinal O’Hara High School. Tom Savage and his family were present with Head Coach Dan Algeo as the signal caller let it be known that he will be a Scarlet Knight in 2008.

Scout.com traveled to Cardinal O’Hara High School this afternoon to watch Tom Savage announce that he will be attending Rutgers next fall amongst a horde of reporters from all over the Tri-State region. It was obvious the signal caller had grown a bit over the past few months as he stood in a solid 6-foot-5 and looked to be completely recovered from a broken foot.

Head Coach Dan Algeo kicked off the press conference talking about his prized player and walked the press through his recruiting while new offensive coordinator Mike deMarteliere sat in the crowd and surely imagined what it would be like bringing the Lansdale Catholic offense into a program stacked with talent for the season. After Savage was done his announcement his mother spoke a bit about the recruiting process and Savage left quickly to go and get ready for his prom tonight.
