Elmhurst's Two-Way Lineman
A shade under 6'4 and tipping the scales at 335-lbs, Elmhurst High School (Fort Wayne, IN)'s Desmond Kenner is just what college coaches are looking for. A big man who can play either side of the ball, Kenner started at both guard and defensive tackle a year ago, doing well enough to earn 1st team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State honors. Naturally, the local colleges have noticed. "Indiana sends me the most mail," Kenner reported, "so I'd say they're recruiting me the hardest and Ball State came up to my school yesterday." Kenner has been to a spring practice at Bowling Green and junior days at the aforementioned Ball State and Indiana. He says the Hoosiers are not only the school coming after him the hardest, he also reciprocates the interest. "I really like the coaches, I love it there, I really like it a lot," he said. Still without an offer, Kenner is taking the steps necessary to ensure that a scholarship will be offered to him at some point. Namely, he is going to as many summer camps as he can fit into his schedule in the coming months. "I just sent in the registration for Ohio State's camp," he said, "I'm also going to Louisville, Michigan State, Miami-Ohio and I'm going to try to get to Purdue's too." Kenner will also be one of the participants at the Scout.com/Under Armour combine in Cincinnati next Month.
