Warren Central is one of Indiana’s top high schools and naturally, it has been a place college recruiters have descended upon. This year, the Warriors have several talented prospects to offer, none of which are as physically impressive as 6’9 tight end Edward Hazelett. | |||

The tight end in a power forward’s body has been all the rage of late. At 6’9, 265-lbs, Warren Central’s Edward Hazelett happens to be just that, as he is a standout in both sports. Not only is he one of the top tight ends in the Midwest, but he is also in the midst of an AAU season and this comes after helping the Warriors to a 16-7 record this season. “I’m trying to find a good fit with both,” he said of the possibility of pulling double duty in college. His future appears to be brighter on the gridiron though, where he is drawing the bulk of his college interest and already has a handful of offers. “I’m hearing a lot from Ohio State,” he said, “and USC, LSU, Florida and Cincinnati. Boston College offered me, Louisville offered me and so did Kentucky. I was supposed to go to Michigan State’s spring game, but I couldn’t.” Hazelett has had a few other possible spring visits derailed by his AAU schedule, but will hit the road as soon as that season is over. He says he doesn’t know which schools he will check in on just yet, but he did mention one junior day he was able to attend that stood out. “I went to Cincinnati’s junior day,” he said, “the facilities were beautiful and the coaches were real nice.” Hazelett says he would like to wait his decision out and could likely take until after his senior season is complete. He will be one of the many prospects at the Scout.com/Under Armour combine in Cincinnati. |
