McCray Adding Offers, Options

A few weeks ago Emmanuel McCray received an offer from the Ole Miss Rebels and in short order the 6-5, 280 pound offensive tackle pounced on it. Since that time a pair of schools have made contact with McCray or his coaching staff to announce their intentions to recruit McCray despite his committed status.

"I now have offers from Southern Miss and Mississippi State," said McCray. "Southern Miss offered me about a week ago and Mississippi State offered me this weekend."

The Golden Eagles have not simply offered a scholarship, they have made direct contact with Emmanuel.

"Southern Miss said that they are going to be recruiting me," said McCray. "They said it's a long time before signing day and that a lot could happen between now and then."

The Bulldogs of Mississippi State were the most recent school to throw their hat in the ring.

"Mississippi State came by the school on Friday, but I didn't get to see them," said the left tackle prospect. "My coach talked with them and he said that they should be in touch with me some time this week."

Offensive lineman appear to be at a premium this year in the Magnolia State especially at the tackle position. McCray's name is quickly rising to the top of the list for in-state sled pushers.

"I think that I have an aggressive mind set for an offensive lineman," said Emmanuel. "I am strong and I really like to run block. I think I am a real smart player and play hard every play."

Despite having a pair of new options in hand, McCray is not ready to back out of his commitment to Ole Miss and the Rebel football program.

"I am still committed, but I am still going to keep my options open," said McCray.
