It appears Ohio State has its sights set on a certain tight end. A few days after returning home…
New Offer For Fragel
Maryland has become the latest school to offer Grosse Pointe South TE Reid Fragel. The Terps extended an offer to the 6'7, 255-lb tight end on Monday. "They sent me a letter with a card inside of it from one of the coaches," he said, "and it said they'd offer me a scholarship." Fragel has not had a ton of contact with Maryland just yet, but that is about to change soon. "They'll be coming to my school this week sometime or next week," he reported, "then I'll talk to them when they come." As for the possibility of visiting, he said, "I'm not sure yet. My dad and I are thinking about it but we are making a schedule for summer. It is definitely one of the schools I'm interested in." The Terrapins are definitely not the only program who will drop into the school this week. Fragel will have visitors from several top programs in the coming days. "This week, Georgia, Oklahoma, Michigan, Michigan State will be here again and Maryland." Several of the teams interested in Fragel had tight ends go in the recent NFL Draft and how each program uses the position is certain on his mind. "Tennessee I liked a lot," Fragel said, "and Maryland, they use traditional tight ends there and they produce very good Tight Ends like Vernon Davis. I watched him play and it does have a bit of a factor in the school." With all the visitors and new offers rolling in, it appears as though Fragel's decision may be getting more complicated, but a decision may not be that far off. "I took the weekend off to let everything sink in. I'm going to start to narrow things down. Hopefully I'll be comfortable enough to commit pretty soon, but if not, definitely before the season."
