Lyle Fitte
Fitte (5-8, 180, 4.6) put up some astounding numbers as a junior with 1,906 yards rushing and 24 touchdowns on 206 carries to go with 1,612 yards and 19 scores on 75 receptions.
He also did a lot of damage in the return game and his ability to make plays in so many ways when he has the ball in his hands has attracted interest from several high-profile schools.
“LSU’s running backs coach (Larry Porter) is coming down next Tuesday and some other coaches are coming too,” Fitte said. “I know several schools have said they were interested in me like Auburn, Alabama, Kansas State, Miami, and Connecticut.”
While Fitte is drawing some looks from schools as far north as Connecticut and out west in Kansas he has his eye much closer to home in the early going of the recruiting process.
“I like the level of competition in the SEC,” Fitte said. “I feel like I’m the best and I like playing against the best level of competition. The SEC is the hardest conference in the United States and I’m big on playing big-time ball. I’d like to stay close to home if possible because I have two younger brothers but if I have to go somewhere else to play then I will.”
When coaches see Fitte on film they are going to see a player that is explosive and has big-play ability.
When they see him in person during the evaluation period and during his senior season, Fitte says they will see those same traits and then some.
“My coach says I am very explosive and my love for the game and my heart is so big that I can’t even explain it,” said Fitte. “I have so much love for the game and I’m all about winning. I’m going to leave everything I have on the field.”
