If you want to see some one of the best high school football rivalries in the entire country, venture down to Cumberland, Md., on homecoming weekend and watch the Allegany Campers take on the Fort Hill Sentinels. Both teams are a staple in the Maryland playoffs and while they don’t always produce FBS level talent, the Campers have one this year in Justin Hymes. | |||

Justin Hymes, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound offensive tackle from Allegany High School in Cumberland, Md., is not only a very good football player, but is also an excellent student as well which is why he is already garnering a significant amount of interest from Ivy League programs. He has already nailed down his first two offers from Harvard and Akron and hopes for more. “I had an offer from Harvard and then Akron came in on Monday and offered me a full scholarship as well,” Hymes stated. “I don’t know much about Akron at this time, but I’ll definitely be studying up on them. Harvard is obviously an excellent school and would provide me opportunities after college that not many other universities in the world could.” “Coach (Jeff) Casteel from West Virginia was also in to school on Monday and invited me to come out and visit the school,” Hymes added. “He said they were very interested in me and told me I was one of their top offensive line prospects. I like them because they’re only and hour and a half from home and are also one of the best programs in the nation.” Hymes has also been getting mail from Boston College, Connecticut, Syracuse and Virginia. He scored a 1950 on his SAT and carries a 4.2 GPA with AP courses. |
