San Francisco (Calif.) Sacred Heart Cathedral running back Dasarte Yarnway, one of the top running backs in the Golden State, headed to the Northwest to visit a couple of Pac-10 schools.
"I just got back from Oregon and Oregon State for some college visits," said Yarnway. "The trip went really well."
Yarnway said the conversation he had with the Oregon coaches was encouraging.
"Coach (Mike) Bellotti said he really liked me and saw me like LaGarrette Blount, who they just brought in and said I played like him," said Yarnway. "They could be offering me soon. They like me in that running back role in the spread."
On Thursday, another Pac-10 school had thrown their hat into the ring, offering Yarnway another scholarship.
"Washington offered me today, making it my fourth Pac-10 offer," said Yarnway.
Yarnway also owns offers from Washington State, Arizona State and California and said he's not in a real rush to decide.
"The offers are nice and I'm just trying to push myself and show my work ethic that I'm one of the top players," said Yarnway. "I'm trying to be a positive influence on my cousins, my nieces and nephews and show what hard work can do."
In March, Yarnway earned all-camp honors at the Badger/New Level Pass Camp in Las Vegas. He's planning on going to the Stanford Nike Camp and potentially some more camps in the spring and summer.
During his junior year, Yarnway ran for 1,408 yards and 19 touchdowns on 175 carries.
