West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade receiver Ronald McCrory (5-11, 165) is still waiting for his first offer, but he's been diligently visiting schools throughout the West in the past few weeks. "I just got back from Washington for an unofficial visit and their Spring Game and it was great," said McCrory. "The coaching staff was unbelievable and the facilities were amazing. They showed plenty of interest. Coach Tormey will be coming to spring practice to continue their evualation and hopefully see what I can do in person and offer after that. The receivers coach (Charlie Baggett) may be coming with him. He asked that I don't let Arizona get an upper hand in my decision without giving Washington a shot. Washington is 100% in the running along with Arizona at this point." The Wildcats made an impression on McCrory earlier in the month when he visited Tucson unofficially. The weekend before he visited Washington, he attended UCLA's Junior Day. "UCLA is a school I want to look more into after Junior Day and talking to Coach (Reggie) Moore," said McCrory. However, McCrory said the Huskies and Wildcats have the upper hand. "At this point, I really like Washington and Arizona who have showed a lot of interest. I like both of my recruiters a lot. In the end, I want to make sure I look at all of my options and make the right decision for me and the school." Other schools showing interest in McCrory are New Mexico, Colorado State, Purdue and Utah. Last season, McCrory caught 37 passes for 571 yards and six touchdowns and had over 1,000 all-purpose yards. He averaged 26.55 per return on kick returns and had four 100-yard receiving games. |
