Many of Arizona's top football prospects competed at the 4A1 state track meet at Mesa Community College yesterday. Scout.com was on hand to film some of the events. Phoenix Washington defensive end Kharyee Marshall is an intriguing prospect with his size and speed. At 6-2 205, he is a bit of a tweener, is a a DE or OLB. His productivity has had many schools stop by Washington including Boise State, Utah, Utah State, Oregon State, Cal, Oregon State, Arizona State and Stanford. He has not been offered at this point. See the athletic big man run in the prelims of the 100 meters, he clocked an 11.16 which he claims is his worst electronically timed 100 of the year. Watch Video Peoria running back Jamal Miles has been a track standout since his freshman year. He cruised to prelim wins in the 100,200 and 400 yesterday. His time of 10.9 was not near his best but he still has Saturday's finals to show his best. Watch Video Miles has football offers from Arizona and Arizona State. Another prospect that has college coaches roaming off the beaten path is Apache Junction back Shane McCullen. At 6-2 190, schools are recruiting him as a strong safety or outside linebacker. He clocked a 10.95 yesterday, just shy of his personal best 10.8 earlier this year. Watch Video McCullen holds offers from Washington State and Army. RB/DB Patrick Foley from Notre Dame Prep was last year's 4A2 state champion in the 100 meters. He cruised into the finals with a 10.98 and advanced in the 200. Watch Video Foley has offers from Stanford and Army currently. |
