Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde running back Daniel Jenkins got some good news on Thursday when he received his first scholarship offer...

Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde running back Daniel Jenkins (5-9, 180), got a call from his high school coach earlier on Thursday, and one he was glad he answered.

"My coach just called me to say that he had just gotten off the phone with Arizona and they were offering me a scholarship," said Jenkins.

The offer from the Wildcats is the first for Jenkins, and he was a mixture of relief and excitement.

"I'm excited because it's the first one and I think the floodgates will open," said Jenkins. "And I'm relieved because I have one now."

And things may not be done with his recruitment.

"Washington is talking to me real seriously and they could be offering me and Syracuse and Missouri are going to be coming by real soon. Washington is coming on Friday to look at me," said Jenkins.

Jenkins ran for over 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior.

He'll be at the UnderArmour/ Combine later this month.
