Bianchi Catches His First Offer

It has been a long wait, but this week North Caldwell, N.J., native Tom Bianchi received his first written scholarship offer from Army. Right now he is receiving interest from programs at many different levels, however this offer from West Point is definitely one that will stay a player in his recruitment.

Tom Bianchi, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound strong side linebacker from West Essex High School picked up offer number one last week when Army extended him an invitation to attend West Point. He spoke to us about the opportunity to play at the service academy as well as his other recruiting activity.

“I talked to the tight ends coach at Army and he’s coming to my house on Tuesday night,” Bianchi said. “I am very excited about this offer and have a lot of interest in Army. I’ve always had an interest in the military and the academics that West Point offers is very attractive. We’re going to talk about all of the specifics when he comes to visit my family.”

“I’ve also been hearing a lot from schools like Connecticut, Syracuse, Maryland and Boston College,” Bianchi stated. “A lot of Ivy League schools have been in contact as well and I’m going to start setting up visits for the summer very, very soon.”

Bianchi has been officially timed at 4.62 in the 40-yard dash, 4.40 in the short shuttle and 7.19 in the three-cone drill.
