Alabama DT Collecting Offers

Darrius McMullin, Scout.com three-star defensive tackle from Hoover-Spain Park, (Ala.), has added a couple of new offers to the growing list. McMullin talked about the latest developments with his recruitment and names a favorite.

“I have recently received new offers from UAB and Louisiana Tech,” said Darrius McMullin. “I also have the offer from Central Florida. I received an email from Vanderbilt saying I qualified for an offer, but they are going to check out my grades.”

“A coach from Oklahoma State, and a coach from Florida have come by the school this spring. I am not sure of any other coaches who plan on coming by.”

McMullin plans to camp at Auburn and Mississippi State and will take an unofficial visit to UCF within the next few weeks. He is looking at all of his options as the process continues, but one school is rated higher than the others.

“The schools that I like right now I would say I have medium interest in all the schools," McMullin said. "I have medium interest in Central Florida, UAB and Louisiana Tech."

"I have pretty high interest in Auburn, but I don’t have an offer from them right now. I have always been an Auburn fan. I have met a couple of the coaches from when I went to a couple of games this past season."

McMullin participated in the Under Armour/Scout.com Southeast Elite camp held on the campus of Auburn University April 27.

“I thought it was pretty cool how we got to work with the guys who train the NFL players," he said. "I also liked the free Under Armour stuff we received. I wish we could have done one-on-ones, but overall it was real good.”

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound prospect recorded 68 tackles, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 2007.

“We just wrapped up spring training on Friday," McMullin said. "It went pretty good. That is when I picked up my offers. Our team looks pretty good. I feel like my speed got better, and my pass rushing skills improved as well.”
