Three-star defensive lineman Jordan Hill picked up his first scholarship offer from Rutgers this week and took a trip with his family to see the campus in person on Tuesday. Hill came away very impressed with the package that the Scarlet Knights bring to the table, but is also seeing his recruiting pick up in a big way from other programs as well. | |||

Jordan Hill, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive tackle from Steelton-Highspire High School in Steelton, Pa., now has his first offer in hand from Rutgers and has been inundated with visitors from around the country. In the beginning of the recruiting process Hill had coaches coming in to see him and his teammates as a group package, but lately, it has just been him that they’ve been stopping by to see. “Rutgers offered me last Friday after talking to my coach and wanted me to get up on campus to see everything, so my mother and father came with me on Tuesday to see everything and it was beautiful there,” Hill explained. “We met my recruiting coordinator Coach Kirk who is new to the staff and originally from my area.” “We got a tour of the football offices and then went through the Hale Center which was really, really nice,” Hill said. “The stadium is really coming along well and it looks like it’s going to be real cool. It was a great visit and I’m very interested in them at this point.” Recruiting has been picking up in other areas for Hill as well. “Things have picked up a lot with Pittsburgh as well,” Hill explained. “My coach has been talking to them and they’re coming in next week to watch one of our spring practices and see me play. I’m pretty high on them because I’ve been out there a few times and am very familiar with the program and coaching staff.” “A coach from Syracuse was by the school today as well which is really the first contact I’ve had with them,” Hill stated. “He said that he hadn’t seen my film, but the rest of the staff had and they had said great things about me which is why he was in to visit.” Among the schools that have visited him over the past week or so have been Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Michigan State, UCF, West Virginia, Connecticut and Stanford. Boston College has been in heavy contact as well. |
