Crim hoping for a breakthrough

Caleb Crim is a 6-1, 225-pound defensive end/fullback prospect from Fruitland, Idaho, and Crim was one of the standout performers at the recent Idaho High School football combine. At 222 pounds, he ran a 4.75 40, 4.4 shuttle, 7.4 L cone test, jumped 31.5 inches in the vertical, 110 inches in the broad jump, threw 40 feet in the medicine ball toss, and added 20 reps at 185 on the bench press.

Crim was a 3A All-Idaho Football Team selection as a junior on both sides of the ball, but expects to play offense at the next level. He carried the ball 80 times for 860 yards and 22 touchdowns, for an average of 10.7 yards per carry. Crim had seven scores against Timberlake in the state 3A semifinals.

Defensively Crim had 60 tackles, 34 unassisted, 21 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, five fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions and three defensive touchdowns in 2007.

Academically, Crim has a 4.0 GPA, 26 on the ACT and 1835 on the SAT, so it's not surprising that Stanford and the Ivies are taking a hard look. Currently Stanford and Brown are Crim's favorites, followed by Princeton, Oregon State, Washington and Cornell. He has no offers at this time.

Crim plans on taking in summer camps at Stanford, Brown and Princeton.
