DeMarcus Harris will switch positions

Mississippi Scout
Posted May 24, 2008

We had a chance to get up with the Olive Branch head coach to find out the latest with one of his star offensive linemen, DeMarcus Harris.

"Nothing has really changed with DeMarcus Harris' status," added Scott Samsel. "Memphis, Arkansas State, S' Illinois, and MTSU have been by his practices."

A chance of position is in store for the former guard.

"We are moving DeMarcus over to center in August. When they (college recruiters) see him at center on film, his stock will rise. There are a lot of guards and tackles but just not that many good centers out there. There are not too many schools who sign a 6' 3" tackle but they do centers."

There is also more good news on Harris' recruiting status.

"He is already a full qualifier. He has already made his (ACT0 test and will qualify. That should help him out too."
