How is Spring practice going?
"It
is going real good," added Charles Sawyer. "It was organized and high
tempo. We have a new head coach. Clemons took over. We have some really good coaches.
Everyone likes him. We are doing good."
What has Charles improved
on most this Spring?
"I have more knowledge. Last year I was playing
off ability alone, but this year, Coach Parnell is teaching me the ins and outs
of playing corner."
Any scouts at the practices?
"I have
had Central Florida, FIU, Ole Miss, UAB, Florida, and Vandy come through."
Sawyer
garnered scholarship offers from the University of Florida and Mississippi during
the offseason. Any new offers?
"Yes sir, UCF, Vandy, UAB, and FIU
have offered me this Spring."
Two schools continue to be high up on
Charles' list.
"I like my relationship with Ole Miss. Coach Vaughn
is very open and down to earth. We connected. He is also their DB coach. That
is pretty cool because you have to feel comfortable with your position coach.
He just makes me feel real comfortable with Ole Miss."
"Florida
is my home state school. They show good support. They are not too overboard with
it. They tell me info about Florida, and I am cool with it. They are all about
the same. I just have to narrow it down."
Who else has impressed the
Coral Reef standout?
"Vandy and Central Florida."
"If
you go to Vandy it is all about school work. That is the way it is around here.
Nothing would change if I were to go to Vandy. Plus, both of their starting corners
are graduating. They have a high percentage of players leaving early. The same
thing goes with UCF."
Anymore schools close to offering?
"I
watched Kentucky play a few times last year. I talk to their coach today and they
said they just got in my film, and I should be hearing some good news shortly."
