4-star Florida WR talks recruiting
"We finished up our spring a little while back," Xavier Rhodes said. "Now it's onto the summer. We lost our spring game to Carol Ciy 7-6. I had four carries for 30-some yards and four catches for about 60 yards." Rhodes, 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, said he plans on playing a few different positions this coming season. "I'll be playing some running back and some receiver on offense and playing defensive back too," he said. Rhodes, who finished his junior season with 20 catches for 231 yards and four touchdowns, talked about his summer plans. "Right now I'm just working out and we're trying to figure out which camps to hit up," he said. "I still need to sit down and talk to my coach about those and see what's on the schedule." The talented receiver has a large number of scholarship offers and said it's been tough trying to narrow things down. He talked about a few schools. "I'm still looking at a bunch," he said. "I don't really have a top five or anything. I'm real interested in Florida State though. They're showing a lot of interest and I like them. I liked Tennessee when I was growing up but they aren't really recruiting me that much. People ask me about Miami being from here and I like them and everything and they've offered me but it doesn't matter about staying home. I wouldn't mind getting away for college to see what else is out there." Rhodes, who said he also received May phone calls from West Virginia, Mississippi State, FIU, and Rutgers, talked about what he's looking for in a school. "The team chemistry and the coaches will be important to me," he said. "And then I'll see which schools offer me major. I wanna major in accounting so I'll see what's up with that." Inside the classroom, Rhodes still has some work to do. "My GPA is coming up," he said. "I think it's up to a 2.4 and I'll be taking the SAT's sometime when school starts up again."
