Florida corner talks recruiting
"I don't even have a top five yet," David Van Dyke said. "I do like some of the schools though—Miami, Florida, Rutgers. I also like FIU and USF. But these are not my official top five." Van Dyke has other things to focus on in his life right now. He has not had the luxury of spending a lot of time thinking about what college he will choose. "I just transferred from Monsignor Pace High School to Booker T. Washington, and I think we have a good chance to go to state again. It's not too hard of a transfer because I know almost the whole team." Right now Van Dyke has one offer from FIU, but expects more to come in the near future. He is working hard for this upcoming football season. The 5-foot-11, 175 pound senior cornerback, who says he tries to play like Bob Sanders, has set high goals for himself. "I want to get a lot of interceptions this year and make the All-Dade team. I hope to get some offers from the bigger schools. I am working hard this summer so that can happen." Although he says he is still open to going anywhere to play college football, Van Dyke held the University of Miami in high esteem. "I like Miami because it has always been a great defensive program. They have a lot of players that go to the NFL. I just don't know too much about the University of Florida or Florida State. All I know is that the University of Florida just won the national championship. I'll be finding more out later though." There are just a couple of things David Van Dyke looks for in choosing a school. "I am looking to play somewhere with good coaches and a place where I feel comfortable."
