Rutgers pulled in another explosive offensive weapon on Wednesday when Carneys Point, N.J., prospect Aaron Hayward decided to stay in state and become a member of the Scarlet Knight family. While we were not able to get a full interview with him at the time of the commitment we did confirm it.

Aaron Hayward, a 6-foot-0.5, 194-pound four-star athlete from Penns Grove High School gave his verbal commitment to Rutgers on Wednesday afternoon. After rushing for 1,363 yards and 17 touchdowns last season and adding 162 yards and three touchdowns receiving he will give the Knights a versatile weapon.

“I just committed to Rutgers,” Hayward texted to Scout.com.

We will be following up with Hayward shortly to bring you a full story.
