"I have a great relationship with the coaches at BYU," Kyle Van Noy said. "I've gotten to know them all pretty well and I like the relationship they have with their players. I really like how it's all about the team there. They all stick together and play for the team and not themselves." The Cougars, who want Van Noy as an athlete, are also recruiting him the hardest. Kyle Van Noy, the 6-foot-4, 202-pound four-star linebacker/wide receiver from McQueen High School in Reno, Nev., now has a total of 10 scholarship offers with his latest coming from Arizona State and San Diego State. He says he also has offers from California, Stanford, Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Boise State, Nevada and UNLV.

"I'm still pretty open and haven't taken all my visits yet," Van Noy said. "I'd like to see some more schools before I start having favorites."

Although he continues to deny a leader, Van Noy favors Arizona State, BYU, Oregon, Boise State and Colorado. The only camp he attended was at BYU in June.

"I have a great relationship with the coaches at BYU," Van Noy said. "I've gotten to know them all pretty well and I like the relationship they have with their players. I really like how it's all about the team there. They all stick together and play for the team and not themselves."

The Cougars, who are recruiting him as an athlete, are also recruiting him the hardest. "They write me all the time," he said.

"I really liked getting to talk to coach Bronco Mendenhall," he said. "He seems like a cool guy and I like how he wasn't trying to pressure me."

Van Noy is LDS and although he says he doesn't plan on going on his mission, he affirms that his religion is important to him and will be a factor.

Boise State is also recruiting Van Noy as an athlete. "The coaches at Boise State are awesome," Van Noy said. The only school recruiting Van Noy strictly for linebacker is Oregon. "They haven't offered yet, but are recruiting me a lot," he said. "They said they like my skills."

Both Colorado and Arizona State are recruiting Van Noy for tight end. "Colorado is an up-and-coming program and I like the coaches there," he said. "They are very upbeat and have a positive attitude.

"Arizona State has a great coaching staff too," he said. "They did great last year and I hope they have another great season and can build from that.

"The coaches and players have a good relationship and I like how enthusiastic they are," Van Noy said. "Plus, they aren't too far away from my family."

Van Noy admits that he would like to stay somewhat close to home. "My family is really important to me and I've love to have them see me play," he said. "I probably won't go too far away."

His parents favor BYU and Van Noy admits the Cougars will be amongst his final choices.

"I probably won't decide until after my senior season," Van Noy said. "I want a program that is known for football and that has a good family environment. I want coaches that care about their players and help teach you about football and life."

Van Noy is ranked as the No. 9 weakside linebacker in the country by Scout.com.

He reports a 3.5 core GPA and although he took the SAT in May, he says he doesn't know his score. Van Noy does plan to retake the SAT in the fall.
