Gardena (Calif.) Serra safety Anthony Carpenter is one of the top defensive backs in the Southland and he's seen here during his 2007 junior season...

Gardena (Calif.) Serra safety Anthony Carpenter is coming off a junior season in which he had 74 tackles and a sack and rushed for 268 yards on 21 carries and scored three touchdowns.

Carpenter, a three-star safety by Scout.com, has offers from Oregon State, Washington State and Nebraska.

He is seen here in action from the 2007 season.
