4-star corner enjoying camp experiences
Although previous reports said that Ely's Michael Carter has narrowed his possible schools down to three, Carter still claims he plans to visit all of the schools in his top five. Read on to see what the four-star cornerback is saying about the recruiting process. "My top five right now is Miami, Minnesota, Florida, Georgia, and West Virginia. I have been to Georgia, Florida, and Miami, but I want to visit Minnesota and West Virginia later this summer." The 5-foot-10, 165-pound quarterback has ties to two of the schools. This could be one of the deciding factors in his collegiate choice. "My cousin Tyrone played at the University of Minnesota so I want to go look up there. And I did grow up as a Miami fan and I live not too far from the school. I like the coaches at Miami, and I think the team is young so their future looks promising." Carter, who now claims to have at least thirteen offers, has been to a couple of noteworthy camps recently. "I went to the Georgia camp and the Florida camp. At the Florida camp they worked with us individually and pulled us aside to do some teaching. I like Coach Meyer a lot—he has some great schemes. At the Georgia camp, we did a lot of one-on-one drills with the receivers. It was a great physical camp." Carter wants to go to a school with a "great coaching staff" and with "great academics." Wherever he ends up playing, he believes he will be bringing something to the table. "I have great recovery speed. I am great with ball judgment, and I had a lot of interceptions returned for touchdowns this past year." This summer Carter plans to work out a lot and get ready for his senior season. Carter finished his junior season with 35 tackles, 7 interceptions, and 4 defensive touchdowns.
