Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Md., is absolutely loaded with talent this year and you don’t have to be a psychic to know they’re the favorites to make a three-peat for the Class A Maryland State Championship this year. One of their defensive players flying under the radar is linebacker Horace Miller, a prospect that already holds two scholarship offers.
It’s as thought talented players keep popping out of the woodwork at Dunbar High School, however one would expect that from such a dominant high school program. Recently we had the opportunity to catch up with weak side linebacker
Horace Miller
, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect that is holding offers from
UNLV
and Louisiana already.
“UNLV wants me to play their Buck position which is basically a defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid that rushes the passer a lot,” Miller explained. “The coaching staff there is very cool and easy to talk to, so I’m comfortable with them. I want to have a family around me wherever I go, so that is top priority. I also like that they struggled last year because that means I would be playing very early.”
“Coach Larry Slade and the rest of the staff from
Tennessee
have been talking to my defensive coordinator a lot and said they think they’ll be offering me. I went out there and dominated at their camp and am really impressed with their program. They have a great tradition, sent a lot of players to the NFL and just have an excellent coaching staff from top to bottom. I felt at home there and hopefully when they see my first two games they will offer me.”
“I also camped at
Boston College
and
West Virginia
and both school have been showing me a ton of interest since then,” Miller stated. “
Maryland
is also recruiting me very, very hard and I’m just waiting for some more offers to come through at this point.”
As a junior, Miller had 90 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 26 hurries, 17 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries on his way to second-team All-State, first-team All-Area and honorable mention All-Metro honors.
