Catching Up With Chris Kennedy

Chris Kennedy is out pounding the fields at camps right now just like thousands of other recruits in the nation, trying to pick up his first Division I-A scholarship offer. Recently he visited four schools for camp and opened some eyes while also getting the attention of some smaller schools.

Chris Kennedy, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive tackle from Archbishop Carroll High School in Radnor, Pa., recently made camp stops at Pittsburgh, Maryland, Rutgers and Temple and seems to have opened the eyes of some of those coaches.

"Pittsburgh went well and I really like the coaches," Kennedy said. "They gave very good instruction and really helped me out with some things. They were very interactive with us and intense. Pittsburgh is a nice city and I really like my recruiting coach Brian Angelichio."

"I spent two days down at Maryland because we got there a day early. The second day I went and we worked out in shoulder pads and helmets which was a cool change of pace. I like the coaches a lot and talked to my recruiter Coach Dave Sollazzo. It was a well-run camp."

"I thought I did really well up at Rutgers, but there were two of their commitments there at my position and the coach spent a lot of time with them, so there weren't many reps to go around," Kennedy explained. "The camp was great other than that and I got good feedback from a lot of the coaches I talked to. Delaware and James Madison coaches were also there and really liked me."

"Temple camp really went well and I really like the staff there," Kennedy stated. "I have a great relationship with them and my dad and I got to talk to Head Coach Al Golden for like 30 minutes. They haven't offered yet, but I feel like they're really interested and hope they do offer because I like their style."

Kennedy caught five passes for 104 yards at tight end as a junior. He was named first-team All-League, second-team All-City and honorable mention All-County at defensive end.
