Alabama QB Talks Visit
"I recently took an unofficial visit to South Alabama," said Robert Cooper. "My parents and I went over there. We mainly talked to the coaches. I got to see the floor plans for everything. They will have a huge field house and weight room. It was very impressive for South Alabama." "I got a chance to talk with coach [Les] Koenning while I was there. He was real cool. He told me I could call him anytime. I sat down with coach [Joey] Jones. We had a good talk with him. Coach [Dameyune] Craig took us around the campus. It was real nice." The Jaguars have offered a scholarship, and a good relationship has developed with the coaching staff. "I like their coaching staff a lot," Cooper said. "They are great. They really stick out to me. Coach 'K' [Koenning], coach Jones and coach [Bill] Clark are all great. They don't really have anything I can look at, but they have been one of the best staffs I have seen so far." The Daphne Trojans hope to earn a berth in the Hoover National Select 7-on-7 passing tournament when they compete in the regional Friday at Foley High School. Cooper plans to attend a few more camps before the start of the season. "I am going to Southern Miss camp," he said. "I am going to Troy this Sunday. I will probably tour the facilities at Troy while I am there. I haven't had a chance to look at Troy very much."
