Smith Talks Recruiting

Jordan Smith is a very good athlete and brings versatility to the field, however recruiting has been pretty slow for him as of late. We caught up with him this week to find out what’s been going on for him and found while one school is on him pretty hard, not much else has been going on since a teammate of his made his commitment last month.
Jordan Smith
, 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back from Steelton-Highspire High School in Steelton, Pa., was previously being recruited by schools like
Rutgers
,
Penn State
and
Pittsburgh
, but the well has gone a bit dry lately. He talked to us about his summer activity on Sunday evening.
“I’ve really been focusing on playing AAU basketball, so I haven’t gone to any camps at all this summer,” Smith said. “We’re going to West Virginia for a tournament this week and then go to another in Las Vegas the following week. I don’t plan to go to any football camps after that.”
“The two schools I’ve really been talking to are Old Dominion and
Temple
and that has been it,” Smith stated. “I talk to the staff at Temple once in a while and they want to find me a spot because they really like my skill set. I missed the camp because of AAU though. I would probably be playing free safety or cornerback for them and really like that they play in Lincoln Financial Field.”
Smith stated that things have really cooled down since his teammate
Jordan Hill
committed to Rutgers, however his lack of activity at camps this summer certainly doesn’t help his cause.
