Junior highlights of Peoria (Az.) Centennial athlete

Few players were as versatile last year as Peoria (Az.) Centennial's John Hughes in the Grand Canyon State.

Hughes was great in all facets of the game in helping the Coyotes to the second straight 5A2 state title. He was outstanding in the return game, caught 22 passes for 356 yards and 5 TDs, rushed the ball 82 times for 520 yards and 6 more scores. On top of that, he recorded 62 tackles, 2 sacks and 3 INTs as a corner.

Hughes (5-6 180) does not currently have an offer as his size may scare some recruiters away, but make no mistake about it, he will be a good football player at some level. He is currently hearing from Northern Arizona and Idaho State.
