Romanella Likes City Atmosphere

Mike Romanella has been getting his film out to coaches all over the country and while a good amount of his attention is coming from the Ivy Leagues and Division I-AA programs, he definitely has the talent to thrive in certain systems at the FBS level. Recently he attended camp at Temple, Villanova and Princeton and sounds close to some offers.

At 6-foot, 175 pounds Bound Brook High School quarterback Mike Romanella may not have prototypical size for a signal caller, however his accuracy, mobility and precision passing do make up for him being a bit vertically challenged. Romanella is also an excellent student, boasting a 2390 three-part SAT score which has brought the Ivy Leagues swarming toward him.

“I camped at Princeton, Villanova and Temple and really loved all three campuses and felt like I’d really fit in there,” Romanella stated. “All of them are right in the thick of things, so there is a lot to do around where I would live which is big for me. I’m really hearing from all of the Ivy League programs and actually have a visit set up to Yale this month too.”

“I thought camp at Temple went very, very well,” Romanella explained. “I worked out with the quarterbacks coach all day and he told me that he really liked what he saw from me. They are reviewing my film right now and are going to get back to me on what they think. I like the campus being right in the heart of Philadelphia because there just seems like there would be a ton of stuff to do there. I loved it down there.”

Romanella completed 114 of 183 passes for 2127 yards and 25 touchdowns to only nine interceptions as a junior. He also carried the ball 14 times for 78 yards and a touchdown. Romanella earned All-Conference, All-County and All-State honors.

He is also an outstanding student, carrying a 3.886 core GPA which ranks him 6th out of 189 students. He is a member of the National Honor Society and scored an extremely impressive 2390 on his three-part PSAT.
