Ayers: A Name to Remember for 2010
Ryan Ayers profile "He's been a camp fool this summer," said South Paulding head coach Tim Glanton. "He just went down to Florida for Friday Night Lights and he had a great camp. He has been to Georgia, Auburn and Louisville too. He just got back from Alabama on Monday." Ayers has consistently ran sub 4.5 40s this summer. He turned in one of the top times at Friday Night Lights. "We haven't heard much from the guys at Florida," said Coach Glanton. "They were mainly evaluating seniors to be. He ran a 4.52 there and they didn't have a lot of blazing times. He had one of the best times there." A pair of other solid camps may net the talented wide out some written offers once November 1st arrives. "He enjoyed Louisville and they really liked him," said Glanton. "They said they would be in touch with him. I think Georgia is probably on the verge of offering him. Coach Martinez really likes him." It appears that just about all of the southeast has taken notice of Ayers game breaking ability. "North Carolina offered back in the spring," said Glanton. "He'll get some other offers soon. He gets mail from pretty much everybody. He gets something from Arkansas and South Carolina pretty much everyday. I know he wants to get over and visit LSU before the summer is over. That's one of his favorite places. The coaches at Mississippi State saw his film and they have been in touch. They wanted him to come to camp there, but he had so much going on he couldn't make it. Clemson really wanted him to camp there too, but he couldn't make that one either." With options expected to come in large supply, Ryan will have a lot to consider. His head coach believes he has the qualities necessary to handle the demands of the recruiting process and make a quality decision. "He is really talented and he's real humble about everything," said Glanton. "Someone is going to get a real good player and a good young man."
