J.R. Carr

Chris Rubio, the longsnapper coach for Chris Sailer Kicking, has compiled his Summer 2008 longsnapper rankings, and two Southland natives sit atop the list...

1- Evan Jacobsen, 6'1", 240 lbs. San Clemente HS, CA.
Evan made a very good name for himself this Spring. He continues to get bigger and stronger. His confidence is really starting to come around. Starting to look like a solid pick for the 2009 class.

2- JR Carr, 5'10" 205 lbs. South Torrance HS, CA.
J.R. is a tremendous snapper that is basically just about tied with Evan for the #1 spot. He blocks like a champ and has incredible speed.

3- Chris Roberson, 6'1" 215 lbs. Katy HS, TX.
Very smooth long snapper. Good speed. When he is on, there is no one better. Getting bigger and better. Should be able to move up the rankings if he continues on this path.

4- Justin Carnes, 6'2 ½ 250 lbs. La Porte HS, TX.
Justin is a snapper with a terrific frame and a lot of potential. He has the ability be very solid. Nice speed and consistency.

5- Salanoa Galeai, 6'1 ½ 200 lbs. Euless Trinity HS, TX.
Salanoa is a very talented long snapper for the class of 2009. He has an extremely quick ball with a lot of potential. Should be moving up the charts quickly.

6- Tyler Bills, 6' 205 lbs. Mission Viejo HS, CA.
Once Tyler becomes more aggressive with his snap, he may take over the top of the ranks. His form is darn near flawless and his consistency is uncanny.

7- Philip Doumar, 6'2" 220 lbs. Jupiter HS, FL.
Doumar has continued to improve and, in turn, has moved up the ranks. He is one of the smoothest and most consistent snappers around. Terrific frame on this long snapper.

8- Michael Brodsky, 6'2" 225 lbs. Milton HS, GA.
Continues to improve. He is moving into the ranks of an easy pick for the class of 2009.

9- Jake Lembke, 6'1" 255 lbs. Providence Catholic HS, IL.
Lembke is very, very close to being 100% ready. Little bit more consistancy and he is easily there.

10- Joey Waters, 5'10" 205 lbs. San Clemente HS, CA.
Joey is a very intense long snapper that has come a long way since we first started working together. A very good listener with good zip on the ball. A solid long snapper and person.

11- Jordan Cowart, 6'2" 220 lbs. St. Thomas Aquinas HS, FL.
Jordan has great size and ability for his age. Very quick hands and tons of potential. Once his form his worked on just a bit, he should easily move up the rankings.

12- Kevin Hampton, 6' 260 lbs. Glendale JC, AZ.
Kevin is a very aggressive long snapper with a lot of potential. Ball has very good zip and his consistancy is decent. Very strong blocker.

13- Doug Steele, 6'4" 220 lbs. Corona del Oro HS, AZ.
Doug is a large snapper with a terrific frame that is very raw. He can be as good as he wants to be and has an absolute ton of potential. Ball has very good speed. Once his consistancy and blocking are locked down, he should move up the rankings very quickly.

14- Anthony Ferraro, 6'3 ½ 210 lbs. Servite HS, CA.
Anthony just might be the next great one. An aboslute terrific frame with an immense amount of potential. Very, very raw and should develop into something special. It will all depend on how much he works.

15- Kevin Rowe, 6'2" 240 lbs. Olympia HS, WA.
Kevin is a big snapper with a lot of potential. Strong and smooth ball that moves quickly. Keep an eye on him over the next year.

16- Ryan Mintz, 6' 200 lbs. JP Taravella HS, FL.
Ryan has a lot of potential and learns very quickly. He is a good listener with a quick ball. Once his legs become completely involved anyone ranked above him should watch out.
