Corvin Lamb is fast. Very fast. He finished sixth in the state in the 200m (21.97) event and second in the 400m (47.96) event. On the football field, he can fly as well, finishing his junior season by averaging over 10 yards per carry for the state champs.
"I can run, catch well, and I'm real swift," Lamb said. "I like playing in the slot at times too, kinda like Percy Harvin. I just feel like I can make things happen whenever I get the ball in my hands."
Lamb, 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, recently took in summer camps at Florida State and Florida. He especially enjoyed his time at Friday Night Lights.
"It was a real good experience," he said. "We did some new drills and I picked up some new stuff. I'd love to come back here next year."
While colleges aren't permitted to extend written scholarship offers to juniors until September 1, you can be sure he'll get plenty early on. He talked about some of the schools he currently likes.
"I like Florida, LSU, Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State, and Cal," he said. "I'm keeping my options open to everyone right now because it's still early. I'm trying to get away from Miami so I'm probably not gonna look too much at UM."
The talented running back prospect talked about some of the things he'll be looking for in a school.
"I wanna play," he said. "I wanna find a place that I'll feel comfortable and just have a good opportunity."
Inside the classroom, Lamb carries a 3.25 GPA and has not yet taken the test.
