Independence Day isn't the only potential cause for fireworks around the Blue Devil football program…
Duke Adds Georgia End
"I wanted to know that I was playing somewhere before my season started," Brandon Putnam stated. "Coach Cutcliffe made me feel at home. He's my kind of coach. Coach Cutcliffe showed me the most interest of any other coach, and their recruiting coordinators showed me the most interest, too. Duke now has one of the best coaching staffs in the ACC." "I'm looking beyond the future. I'm getting the best of both worlds at Duke. Their education, and now their football program make one of the best combinations in college football." The defensive end prospect believes he will play on the weakside at Duke. "They haven't really talked about my particular positioning, but I think of myself as more of a weakside defensive end," Putnam said. Putnam is for sure of one official visit. "I'm not sure yet about taking all five visits," he commented. "I just committed, and I haven't thought that far ahead. I am for sure about one of my visits, and that is to Duke. I don't know about any others yet." Putnam carries a 3.8 GPA and is already considering his future academic plans. "I probably wanna major in civil engineering," he said. "Everything up there is great in education. It's one of the top schools in the nation."
