Orseske Talks Minnesota Commitment
It was earlier this summer that Chicago Brother Rice punter Dan Orseske committed to Minnesota. The 6'3, 195-lber is considered one of the top punters in the country and although it appeared more offers and interest were on the horizon, he knew where he wanted to go. "I had Northwestern, but that was a conditional offer, they had to see my transcript first. Then Illinois was going to offer me, but I had my heart set on Minnesota." Among the reasons for his commitment, Orseske says were, "all the people there, the coaches, the town was nice and it's a Big Ten school." Orsekse also says his commitment was "big weight off me," and although he did not need the exposure from this past weekend's Kohl's Kicking Camp, there were several other reasons for him to come up to Whitewater. "I like to compete, I still want to compete and just see where I stand next to everyone else," he said of the camp, "It's my fifth camp coming and they have thought me a lot." For Minnesota, Orseske says he will only be a punter. Last season as a junior, he averaged 40.2 yards per kick.
